A Whitfield County fishing trip turned deadly Monday night. Sheriff Scott Chitwood said a vehicle pulled into the parking lot of a store on Highway 52 with a man inside who was bleeding from a stab wound.

By the time emergency personell arrived, 28 year old William Wesley Vaughn Jr. had died from his injuries.

The suspect, Bryan Shelton Dennington, fled the scene on foot before officers arrived.

However, he was quickly apprehended at his home, arrested and has been charged with Murder and Aggravated Battery.
