16-Year-Old Charged With Assaulting Brothers 6, 8 At Bus Stop

Chattanooga Police arrested a 16-year-old boy on Monday morning for assaulting two brothers, ages six and eight, at a local bus stop.

Police were called to 2700 E. 34th St. at 8 a.m. on an assault report. They were informed by a school bus driver that the two younger boys were assaulted by the 16-year-old while waiting for the bus.

Both brothers showed visible signs of bruising in the face, elbow and around the neck, where one of them had been choked.

Parents of all the children were notified and responded to the scene. The 16-year-old was taken to the Juvenile Detention Unit, where he was charged with two counts of assault. The two brothers were released to the care of their mother.

A motive in the assault is unknown.
